Representation For Those Who Need It
AEGIS offers legal representation to those who need it.
Imagine that your community is facing urgent problems and you have what it takes to implement the solutions that are needed. Down the line, you will realize that legally starting official non-profit activities takes quite an amount of resources as well as months (or sometimes years) of bureaucratic procedures. What we try to do is to basically offer a way to skip that obstacle, so that nothing stands between you and your mission.
With the AEGIS Alliance program, we represent independent initiatives, projects or organizations in the making. This enables you to legally receive grants, donations as well as form partnerships with companies and organizations without having to register and maintain a non-profit legal entity.
In order to apply to the AEGIS Alliance program, tell us about your project or initiative in the application form below.
WHAT WE DO
We support independent initiatives such as grassroot projects or activist groups in their work, so that they may operate with the same advantages as those given to NGOs. We don’t believe that every local movement needs to become its own legal structure, and avoiding this hassle so that change-makers can focus on the work they do rather than on administrative obligations is a big part of why we are here.
We conduct legal research and administrative execution allowing us to streamline a growing number of independent philanthropic productions
We also undertake legal research and execution allowing us to develop the additional legal entities that we need to accommodate certain of our network’s cooperative for-profit needs, allowing these projects to become self-funded.
HOW IT WORKS
We work with projects and initiatives from around the world. We represent these projects by taking them under the AEGIS Alliance. All non-profit projects that we represent maintain their independence, while respecting certain legal obligations such as :
- Involving the AEGIS administrators in all applications, contracts or agreements that are established between the project and other legal entities such as companies and organizations.
- Acting in accordance with the law.
- Acting in accordance with international human rights.
- Acting with respect towards AEGIS values and code of conduct
